We are drunk in the knowledge of the outer world. We seek news, information, stories, facts, yet still feel like something is missing. We know a great deal about math, physics, literature, art, music, this artist's shoes size or that politician's coming plan, yet how much do we know about ourselves? We spend hours and days on classes and books and movies and songs, and how many times in a month or a year do we spare some minutes to truly look at ourselves? Isn't it enough of an irony that we have explored so much of this world, to the unknown lands and planets, and new fields and professions, yet remain alien to the one who does all of these?
"What for?" we ask. Well, simply put, to be a puppeteer and not a puppet. We think we are free, but we are not. We are constantly driven, and if we don't master the driver, how are we going to be in control? How are we going to be free?
That, however, doesn't mean we should stop collecting knowledge. It only means that the master of the inner knowledge is more important. We still have to learn from the outer world, we still have to collect information, to know more about it, to know everything that needs to be known for us to realize that the only thing we need to know is our self. And once we did it, we will realize that for the outer world, we have already mastered it, too.
